Hello again! I’m a happy bunny again this week (if not a little frazzled!) as I’ve had an email confirming my 3 feather paintings I entered for selection to the North Somerset Arts Showcase at Sidcot this weekend were all accepted!!! Yay! 😀  I’m looking forward to visiting the Showcase at Sidcot to see what all the artists in my local area have been working on. Its always inspiring to see lots of diverse styles and techniques.

Another reason I’m quietly grinning is because this evening I delivered my latest Bride & Groom’s wedding photos…in slideshow format, and they LOVED THEM!!!! Its always a huge relief when I finally get to share the photos with the bride & groom after such an intense period of editing and selection. Every wedding I photograph feels like ‘the best one yet’ but I honestly believe that Katie & Matt’s wedding has given me some of my best shots yet…especially some stunning sunset scenes!! Here’s a sneaky preview of some of my favourites…

There’s EVEN MORE that’s made me smile this week…and I have to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Kay, who has very kindly sent me a selection of very beautiful parrot feathers to paint on. They are however, SO beautiful in their own right, I’m not sure my painting on them would be the right thing to do! I’ll ‘sleep on this idea’ for a night or two and wait for inspiration to ping into my mind…I already have a couple of ideas milling  around my head, so watch this space.

I had hoped that now my daughter is back at school, I’d have a good chance to get my paintbrushes back in action. Unfortunately, I’ve had such a packed week with photo shoots, art lessons, developing my new website, and of course, editing photos that my paint brushes have had to stay in their case. Its been a very productive week, just not in the painting department! In my next blog I’ll share with you some very cool paintings and drawings done by my year 6 student. Until next time, lets hope I can finally reunite with my brushes!!
