I've Landed At Slimbridge!

I’ve Landed At Slimbridge!

As the sign says, ‘I’ve Landed at Slimbridge’!

I’ve just returned from hanging an exhibition of my work in the Cheng-Kim Loke Gallery at WWT Slimbridge, and I’m grinning from ear to ear!

The first time I visited Slimbridge was around 9 years ago when I was just beginning to get into painting. My friend and colleague at the time took me for a day trip. I remember even then, being blown away by the art on the walls along the walkway towards the swans and thinking how amazing it would be to exhibit my art here. (Not that I was even a practicing artist back then!) Every subsequent visit, I’ve looked forward to seeing the art at Slimbridge as much as the birdlife.

Around a year ago, I plucked up the courage to email Slimbridge and inquire about exhibiting there. A few emails later, and I had a date – Today! For a long time now, today has been a long way ahead, but at last it’s here and I’ve achieved my goal – a wonderful display of my art on the walls at Slimbridge.

A lovely surprise on arrival was seeing some posters advertising my paintings! It may seem daft, but its a lovely feeling seeing my name and my paintings on the wall!

Once the hanging was complete and everything checked off the inventory list, some space was made in the shop for a selection of my limited edition prints and cards – a lovely position, in front of a great photo of Sir Peter Scott.

As I was taking the empty packaging back to my car, a beautiful rainbow appeared – an extra treat on this special day!

The exhibition is showing until June 2nd so there’s plenty of time to visit if you can. Please tell anyone you think may be interested – Slimbridge is a wonderful place to visit, maybe you will be inspired like I was the first time I went!
